Divide the world into 4 quadrants (NE, NW, SE, SW), according to the middle of the Earth (0 degrees lat. by 0 degrees long.)

The True North would equal 0 degrees (or 360), East equals 90 degrees, South equals 180, and West equals 270 degrees (this is not long. and lat. measurements).

Work out which quadrant the Vessel Movement is in and then use a protractor to work out the degrees. Then you have the bearing.
