EDT = Eastern time & PST = Pacific time.

Eastern time is 3 hours ahead of Pacific time.

So, if it is Sept. 5, 2010 and 5:00PM Eastern time in Atlanta, Georgia Atlanta is in the Eastern time zone so the time there will be the exact same. Georgia is no where near PST (Pacific time).

Pacific time is on the West coast.

Well, first you have to understand that there's a difference between EDT and EST, and between PDT and PST.

The "D" stands for "daylight". EDT and PDT are used when daylight savings time is in effect (i.e. in the summer). The "S" stands for "standard" and is used after daylight savings time ends (during the winter months).

So you would NEVER use EDT at the same time of year you'd use PST. There's no such things as September 5th PST, because September occurs during PDT (the time change doesn't occur until November).

But if you're just asking about the general time difference between the two timezones, Pacific time is three hours behind Eastern time, so 5PM Eastern would be 2PM Pacific.

Also, Georgia is in the Eastern timezone, not the Pacific... so 5PM EDT would still be 5PM in Georgia.

Same time. Atlanta Georgia is in EDT in September.

Oh, it looks like there are a group of idiot escapees from the moronic asylum lurking on Yahoo right now! Raina gave a spot-on excellent answer, yet there are 3 thumbs down apparently from people who are anti-knowledge.

I give you a thumbs-up.
